In the afternoon of 15 February, Ambassador of the United States David B.Shear was received by Secrectary of Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi.

In the meeting, the Ambassador appreciated the support of Hanoi’s government and leaders for the US Embassy to work effectively in Vietnam. He hoped that the cooperation of the two countries would be further boosted in all fields, especially trade, education, healthcare, environment… He pledged to try his best to develop the United States-Vietnam friendship to a new height.

Secretary Pham Quang Nghi hoped that the US government would further increase investment in Vietnam as well as quality and efficiency of Vietnam-US cooperation activities. He highly appreciated the attention  the US has paid to Vietnam regarding after-war recovery and environment protection . Given the success of the multifaceted cooperation, the Secretary believed that the bilateral relationship would become further developed, comprehensive and efficient.
