| Hanoi presented 500 cherry blossom trees from Japan |

On February 13, the reception ceremony of 500 cherry blossom trees, which Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Japan’s Chukyo region has presented to Hanoi, took place in Hoa Binh Park, Hanoi. The participants included Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Xuan Viet, the Secondary Secretary of Japanese Embassy Nishio Atsunori, President of the Chukyo-based Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association Maeda Toshimichi along with CEOs and Directors General of 25 Japanese enterprises, representatives of functional departments and boards and many students of Chu Van An High School. Addressing in the ceremony, Deputy Chairman Tran Xuan Viet thanked Japanese and Chukyo region’s people for their good sentiment and the meaningful gift to Hanoi. He expressed his happiness on the development of Vietnam-Japan relation in many fields. He emphasised that the gift had a special meaning in boosting the friendship and helping Hanoi’s people understand deeper about Japan and Japanese culture. Maeda Toshimichi, President of the Chukyo-based Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association, pledged to try his best to coordinate with Board of Managers of Hoa Binh Park to look after the trees sothat Hanoians would enjoy cherry blossom blooming next spring. Accordingly, other events such as Cherry Blossom Festival, Japanese Tradition Tea Ceremony will be hold to create a cultural exchange’s space between two countries. They also help consolidate the Vietnam-Japan traditional bonds generally and Hanoi with other Japanese localities particularly.
