The 55th anniversary of Vietnam - Laos dilopmatic relations establishment

On July 18th in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi City organized the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic relations establishment (5/9/1962-5/9/2017) and 40 years of the signing of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation between the two countries (18/7/1977-19/7/2017).

The high-ranking delegation from Lao Party and State led by Phankham Viphavanh, member of Politburo, Standing of the Lao Party’s Secretariat and Vice President along with a number of Lao students are studying and working in Vietnam attended the ceremony.

Delivering the opening speech at the Ceremony, on behalf of Party, State and people of Vietnam, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his gratitude to the sentiment and assistance of the Party, State and people of Laos in the past years. The General Secretary was delighted at the results achieved by the Lao Party, State and people, especially after 30 years of renovation. The General Secretary has believed in the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Government’s administration, the supervision’s Parliamentary, the Lao people would successfully implement the Resolution of the 10th Lao People ‘s Party Congress and the 8th socio-economic development plan for five years; building successfully Lao with  peaceful, independent, democratic, united and prosperous following socialist aim.

The General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos in the coming time would be expanded, developed and elevated to a new height, together to build each country more prosperous, independent, democratic; People’s life is warm and happy; Contributing to peace in the region and the world…

Speaking at the Ceremony, Lao Vice President Phankham Viphavanh also reviewed the memorial about the precious friendship between Party, State and people of Vietnam and Lao; showed deep gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the sentiments and material and spiritual support to Laos in the past years. He was delighted with the great achievements of  Vietnam in more 30 years of renovation. He affirmed and believed in the good relationship between Vietnam and Laos more and more sustainable, elevated to a new height, together to build each country more prosperous; rich people, strong country, fair, democratic and civilized society.
