Seoul’s Days in Hanoi 2016


The opening ceremony of ‘Seoul’s Days in Hanoi’ took place at Ly Thai To flower garden on the evening of October 28th, 2016. The event was co-organised by Seoul Metropolitan Government and Hanoi People’s Committee. The ceremony was attended by Permanent Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Le Hong Son, First Vice Mayor of Seoul Liu Gyoung-gee and Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Lee Hyuk.

‘For Hanoi and Seoul, the year 2016 marks the 20-year path of establishing and promoting their friendship and mutually developed cooperation. ‘Seoul’s Days in Hanoi’ is a special event succeeding the series of activities in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hanoi – Seoul partnership. It is the occasion for the both to take stock of what they have achieved and work together towards new progress on their friendship and bilateral collaboration in future’, Vice Chairman Son underlined in his speech.

With the well-prepared pieces performed by Samulnoli Dong-lak-yeon-hee group and Seoul Youth’s Traditional Musical Troupe, the event brought the audience the marvellous cultural features and the beauty of nature and people of Seoul in particular and South Korea in general, thereby bringing the two cities’ people closer and contributing to further tightening the friendship between the two countries and the two peoples as well.

In addition to the traditional art performance, “Seoul’s Days in Hanoi’ involved a photo exhibition on Seoul to offer Hanoi people an overview of a dynamic, modern but somewhat antique Seoul.
