At the meeting, Mr. Gunther Adler expressed his interest in issues of cooperation between Germany and Vietnam, especially Hanoi city’s projects in the next 10 years. He noted that Germany firms are eager to learn and work with Hanoi in the field of environment, solutions for improving water and soil quality and the possibility to access projects of infrastructure construction and development in the city. According to Mr Gunther Adler, German has conducted many projects in Hanoi and desires bilateral relations between the two countries will be increasingly strengthened and developed in the near future, creating long-term opportunities for cooperation. In the field of environmental protection, Germany firms are willing to share with Hanoi city their experiences and knowledge of managing, protecting and adapting to climate change.
In respond to Mr Gunther Adler’s interest in the city’s projects, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung gave an overview on the city’s development plans in the coming years, in which Hanoi will focus on improving environment to make the city more beautiful and green, attract investment and develop tourism. The projects of clean water and waste treatment are issues of high concern to be called for investment in Hanoi. Chairman Chung desires Germany firms, with their advanced technologies, will share experiences and cooperate with Hanoi in improving the living environment, waste water treatment, energy regeneration development and the construction of eco-friendly models. He also informed that Hanoi is planning the banks of the Red River for renovating natural landscape and building new urban areas and suggested Germany firms for their advisory and investment in this important project.
